Fair Winds Brewing Co., a Fairfax County-based brewery, has signed a lease for 12,603 square feet of industrial space at 7000 Newington Road in the Gunston Industrial Park in Lorton.

After an extensive search in Fairfax County, Fair Winds and its broker, JLL, focused on Gunston Industrial Park, which offered the right zoning and ceiling heights as well as a location close to a workforce and dense housing.

“With the continued growth of Ft. Belvoir and growing residential base around Kingstowne, we ultimately viewed Lorton as a ‘close in’ location,” JLL Senior Vice President John Dettleff said in a statement.

He and JLL Vice President Tucker Farman represented the tenant in the transaction. NAI KLNB Principal Marc Tasker and Ryan M. Moody represented the landlord, PS Business Parks.

Fair Winds Brewing plans to make four beers at the site: an IPA, a pale ale, a red and a kolsch. The brewery will set aside about 2,000 square feet for a tasting room that will offer views of the brewing process.

Gunston Industrial Park offers 246,520 square feet of light industrial and office space from five buildings.
