Excella wins $117M federal IT contract

Arlington-based software and information technology management company Excella has won a nearly $117 million contract to help digitize and streamline U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service benefits and adjudication systems, the firm announced early Tuesday.

Under the five-year Digital Innovation and Development II contract, Excella will assist the agency, a part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in its digital transformation by modernizing existing applications and systems with agile software and user-centered design.

Excella has already supported the USCIS transformation for more than six years.

“Excella is honored for the opportunity to continue supporting USCIS in safeguarding the integrity of the nation’s lawful immigration system,” said Sarath Ravella, vice president of strategic initiatives at Excella.  “Excella’s Agile and DevSecOps expertise coupled with our USCIS mission experience will accelerate these modernization and innovation efforts.”

USCIS oversees naturalization and immigration to the United States and is comprised of more than 19,000 government employees and contractors working at more than 200 offices across the world.

Excella was founded in 2002 and specializes in agile transformations, modernizing IT systems and artificial intelligence.
