The Port of Virginia has named Toano-based Lumber Liquidators its Shipper of the Year. The award recognizes companies with exceptional commitment to helping the port grow.
The company announced earlier this year a $60 million expansion that’s expected to create more than 200 new jobs over the next three years in the commonwealth.
Lumber Liquidators also is building a 1-milllion-square-foot distribution center in Henrico County, which it says is key to consolidating its East Coast operations in Virginia, a move that will keep 500 jobs in Virginia.
The specialty retailer of hardwood flooring, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, also plans to add a 13th store in the state later this year.
