Sixteen of Virginia’s 22 companies on the Fortune 500 fell in rank from last year.

Four companies rose on list, and two were unchanged.

New to the Fortune 500 this year was Hilton Worldwide Holdings, based in McLean, which went public in December. The company is involved in the ownership, leasing, management, development, and franchising of hotels, resorts and timeshare properties.

Another new name on the list is Leidos Holdings Inc., based in Reston, a successor to former Fortune 500 company SAIC Inc. Leidos was formed last year when SAIC, a major government and defense contractor, was divided into two parts —  Leidos and a smaller company also called SAIC.
