Elite Shooting Sports LLC has announced plans to open a 65,000-square-foot shooting range in Prince William County this fall.
The company says the range, scheduled to open Oct. 4, will be one of the largest indoor shooting ranges in the country.
Construction is under way for the facility located off I-66 and Prince William County Parkway.
The building will house four separate indoor shooting ranges; two 25-yard ranges a 50-yard range and an 100-yard range. The facility will also have five classrooms, a café and a 5,000 square-foot retail area.
Elite Shooting Sports is the brainchild of Greg Wodack, a range consultant and the former manager of the National Rifle Association’s Headquarters Range in Fairfax. Wodack teamed up with local developer Coleman Rector and local investors for the project.
The facility at 7751 Doane Drive will be open to the public seven days a week. Parts of the range will also be used for agency training.
