Great Outdoor Provision Co. to expand flagship store in C-ville

Raleigh, North Carolina-based retailer Great Outdoor Provision Co. is opening an expanded flagship store in August 2022 in Charlottesville.

The independently owned retailer, which sells outdoor clothing and recreational gear such as camping equipment and kayaks, will more than double that space of its Barracks Road location, growing from 9,641 square feet to 20,358 square feet in a new corner location adjacent to a Kroger.

The store, which has been located in the Barracks Road Shopping Center since 2014, will be the largest of Great Outdoor Provision Co.’s nine locations across Virginia and North Carolina.

“Since our opening in 2014, the community has made us feel right at home,” said Tim Glover, manager of the store’s Barracks Road location.  “We are excited to grow here at Barracks Road and look forward to opening this one-of-a-kind outdoor-inspired shopping experience in an area that offers so many great natural resources. Without question, the greatest asset at Great Outdoor Provision Co. is our people.
