Richmond law firm Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP has added two members to its Virginia government relations team, the firm announced last week.
Elizabeth Rafferty and Adisa Muse, both based in Richmond, will serve as directors of government affairs for the firm’s full-service public affairs and strategies consultancy, which focuses on global economic development, commerce and government relations.
The pair will develop and manage legislative strategies for businesses, trade associations and localities before the Virginia General Assembly and the state government executive branch.
Before joining Hunton Andrews Kurth, Rafferty was on the government relations team at Williams Mullen. She was also an adviser for community development for the Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade, managing and overseeing the statewide GO Virginia economic development initiative, and she served as policy and legislative director of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and her master’s degree in public policy from American University.
Muse was Norfolk’s chief deputy city clerk and served as senior adviser to Norfolk Mayor Kenneth C. Alexander. He was the director of the Virginia Voter Restoration Project and also worked as an aide for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Virginia House of Delegates. He earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and did postgraduate studies in international relations and economics at Johns Hopkins University.
