Leidos wins $600M contract to support Army Geospatial Center

Reston-based Fortune 500 government contractor Leidos Holdings Inc. won a U.S. Army contract worth an estimated $600 million if all options are exercised, the company announced Monday.

Under the single-award contract, which has a one-year base with three one-year options, Leidos will support the Army Geospatial Center’s (AGC) Buckeye program, an airborne surveying system that provides unclassified high-resolution color imagery and three-dimensional geospatial imaging of terrain. Leidos will provide contractor-owned and operated aircraft and employees to support the collection, processing, storage and dissemination of geospatial information, according to a news release.

“We are excited to support the AGC’s critical mission of providing timely, accurate and relevant geospatial data to the warfighter,” Leidos Defense Group President Gerry Fasano said in a statement. “Leidos looks forward to leveraging our technical, engineering and software expertise to enable our warfighters to maintain a decisive advantage on the battlefield.”

Work will take place predominantly in Virginia.

With 40,000 employees, Leidos reported $12.3 billion in revenue for the fiscal year that ended Jan. 1.
