Falls Church-based defense and government services contractor Pacific Architects and Engineers Inc. (PAE) was awarded a potential $74.2 million contact to run base operating support services at U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, providing maintenance and repair services for base facilities, grounds and family housing, including custodial services and wastewater operations.

The contract from the U.S. Navy’s Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Far East has a 12-month base period that may be extended to June 2026 through four one-year options, with an additional 60-day demobilization period.

“We’re excited for this opportunity to continue supporting the critical missions of the Marine Corps at Iwakuni. Our specialized expertise and established presence in Japan are ideal for us to deliver the most effective solutions on this contract,” said PAE Interim President and CEO Charles Peiffer in a statement.

PAE employs more than 20,000 workers across its operations in 60 countries. In December, it won two task orders with a combined value up to $152 million under the U.S. Air Force Contract Field Team Services, as well as a $98 million contract from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa. In 2020, PAE reported about $2.7 billion in revenue, down 1.8% from 2019, which the company attributed to COVID-19.
