Fredericksburg-based Mary Washington Healthcare is opening an outpatient facility in Woodbridge devoted to the care of wounds.
An outpatient department of Stafford Hospital, the Wound Healing Center on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge will house two hyperbaric oxygen chambers proven to assist in the healing of wounds.
The center is designed to help patients heal quickly from wounds like diabetic foot sores, skin grafts, radiation tissue damage and other chronic wounds.
The facility will open on Jan. 24.
Mary Washington Healthcare is the nonprofit parent company of Stafford Hospital and Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, which also has a wound healing center.
The daily operations of the new clinic will be managed by nurses and technicians trained in wound care.
A team of physicians including podiatrists, infectious disease physicians and interventional nephrologists will provide medical oversight to the clinic.
