Norfolk company buys office building for $1 million

SPENJAC LLC has bought a property of about 22,200-square feet from Evergreen Virginia LLC for $1 million that it plans to use for a new headquarters. The 1.4 acre-property is located at 5636 E. Virginia Beach Blvd.

According to Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer SPENJAC, which consists of Spencer and Jacqueline Upshur — husband and wife owners of Business Interiors and Moving Services — plans to move its Norfolk headquarters into a new space as soon as the current tenant, Truck Source, moves out in late September 2014.

Business Interiors & Moving currently leases 5,000 square feet in the building. It financed the purchase with an SBA loan from Fulton Bank. Robert M. Thornton of Thalhimer handled sale negotiations on behalf of the seller.
