Alexander Industries to bring 64 jobs to Pulaski County

A Virginia-based company that produces rifles, ammunition and accessories is launching a $2.88 million expansion expected to create 64 jobs. Alexander Industries will move its operations to a 25,000-square-foot facility in Dublin Industrial Park.

“This space we are moving into is significantly larger than the space we currently occupy,” says James Reddish, president of Alexander Industries. “It’s basically designed to support growth in the company and our product line and what not.”

The company’s currently located on the Radford Arsenal in Southwest Virginia where they will still maintain some presence, Reddish says. The new jobs will range from manufacturing, accounting, customer service and engineering and design.

Alexander Industries was created in 2001 and is best known for developing the .50 Beowulf and 6.5 Grendel cartridges. More recently it created a rifle for the .338 Lapua cartridge. The company serves three markets: commercial, military and law enforcement.

Gov. Bob McDonnell approved a $150,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund for the project. Virginia competed against South Dakota and Texas for the project.
