Three hospitals in Virginia named to Becker’s ‘Great Heart Programs’ list.

Becker's Hospital Review has named three hospitals in Virginia to its “100 Hospitals with Great Heart Programs” list. They are Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Winchester Medical Center.

The list was based on recognition for quality care, clinical awards and research contributions to cardiovascular care. Hospitals on the list have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the American College of Cardiology Foundation and the American Nurses Credentialing Center for their cardiovascular care.

Hospitals could not pay to be included on the list, Becker’s Hospital Review noted an inclusion was not an endorsement.
