Columbia, Maryland-based cybersecurity company Owl Cyber Defense Solutions LLC announced Tuesday it has acquired Fairfax-based Trident’s Assured Collaboration Systems (ACS) product line.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The ACS product line includes voice over IP, video teleconference, cross domain solution and full-motion video filtering capabilities. The acquisition adds network defense services to Owl’s portfolio.

“This is another step in executing our strategic vision,” Owl Chairman Thomas J. Campbell said in a statement. “The acquisition of ACS not only places Owl ahead of other cross-domain solution providers, but it also plays a pivotal role in our larger strategy to offer true cybersecurity protection. The future requires cost effective, easy to implement, use and maintain solutions.”

For more than 20 years, Owl has provided network perimeter services to the U.S. Department of Defense and the intelligence community.

“Owl has been rapidly moving towards this number one position for the last couple of years,” Owl President and CEO Robert Stalick said in a statement. “With the addition of ACS, the last piece has fallen into place.”
