The Boy Scouts of America’s Heart of Virginia Council has purchased a $2.875 million office building in Henrico County as its new Richmond-area headquarters, Colliers International Virginia LLC announced Tuesday.
The 26,290-square-foot office building at 8090 Villa Park Drive near the intersection of East Parham and Brook roads will be renovated beginning in January. Nearly doubling its space, the scouting council plans to move from its 4015 Fitzhugh Ave. location in April 2021.
The new location will provide space for a retail outlet, training center and scouting corporate headquarters, serving the council’s more than 11,000 members.
“It was a sincere pleasure being able to work with Boy Scouts on its hunt for a new headquarters,” Colliers Assistant Vice President Rebecca Barricklow said in a statement. “It was challenging to find a building that met all its requirements but once we came across this property, we knew it was for them. The building will be transformed into a state-of-the-art facility that will have an incredible impact on its future as an organization and its Virginia community.”
Senior Vice President Wood Thornton and Vice President Jimmy Martin represented the seller Swag Partners LLC during the transaction. Barricklow and Managing Director Joe Marchetti represented the BSA’s Heart of Virginia Council.
