Arlington-based defense contractor BAE Systems announced Wednesday it has promoted Jeremy Tondreault as president of its platforms and services sector, effective Jan. 4, 2021.

Tondreault succeeds Guy Montminy, who will remain as a legacy fellow with the company until his planned retirement later in 2021.

“Guy has made significant contributions to our company, our employees and our customers over his 35-year career,” BAE Systems President and CEO Tom Arseneault said in a statement. “His dedication to our people and our mission, and his focus on safety, performance and operational excellence have guided the business through challenging times and positioned it for success into the future.”

The platforms and services sector provides tracked and wheeled armored combat vehicles, naval guns, naval ship repair and modernization, artillery and missile launching systems, precision strike munitions and ordnance.

With 25 years of experience with BAE Systems, Tondreault has been the company’s vice president of operations for its electronic systems sector and was most recently the vice president and general manager of its combat mission systems business.

“Jeremy’s strong leadership of our combat vehicle portfolio, experience ramping up production lines and deep expertise in operations and program management have positioned him as the right choice to advance the sector’s performance and continue driving operational excellence for our customers,” Arseneault said in a statement.

BAE Systems Inc. is an independent U.S. subsidiary of England-based BAE Systems plc, one of Europe’s top defense contractors. BAE Systems Inc. employs approximately 35,100 people across the U.S., U.K., Sweden and Israel. The company generated $11.4 billion in sales last year.
