Jason W. Aiken has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Falls Church-based General Dynamics Corp.
The appointment becomes effective Jan. 1. Aiken, 41, succeeds L. Hugh Redd II, who is retiring from the company after serving as CFO since 2006.
Aiken currently is the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., a General Dynamics subsidiary.
He previously served as vice president and controller of General Dynamics, responsible for the company's accounting, financial reporting, government finance and corporate financial systems.
Aiken joined General Dynamics in June 2002 as director of consolidation accounting.
He is a certified public accountant and has a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University. Aiken earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from Washington and Lee University.
General Dynamics is Virginia’s largest publicly traded company and ranked No. 98 on the Fortune 500 list.
