Vienna-based IT service management company Government Tactical Solutions (GovTact) announced Thursday that Luke Howe has been promoted to chief operating officer.

Howe most recently served as the company’s executive vice president. In his new role, he will focus on business strategy, growth and company operations.

“Luke has been instrumental in GovTact’s success over the past five years,” GovTact CEO Paul Sanchez said in a statement. “He is a results-oriented leader who works tirelessly to successfully bring the GovTact team together to deliver industry leading solutions to our customers.”

Howe also previously went through the Commercial Leadership Program at General Electric Co. and served as vice president with Sagent Partners, a Tysons-based government services firm. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business and political science from Boston College and has served as an appointee by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board. He also served as president of the Young AFCEANs, a young professionals organization.

GovTact provides mission-critical technical services to federal government customers. The company, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, operates in 12 states.
