Herndon-based ManTech, a technology contractor for U.S. defense, intelligence and federal civilian agencies, announced Thursday it has been awarded an $85 million contract to manage the Operational Test Program Set (OTPS) used by Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division.

The OTPS is used by the NSWC to ensure advanced weapon systems’ reliability and maintenance when used on U.S. Navy aircraft, according to ManTech.

Under the contract, ManTech will develop depot-level (the highest level) hardware and software that performs diagnostic testing. The company will use its ACRE Cyber Range to test aircraft weapons systems for cybersecurity.

“We look forward to delivering our differentiated intelligent systems engineering capabilities to help ensure competitive edge in every combat scenario,” Andrew Twomey, executive vice president and general manager of ManTech’s defense sector, said in a statement.

Founded in 1968, ManTech, a Fortune 1000 company, reported more than $2 billion in revenue last year.
