Anup Ghosh is leaving his position as managing director and global platforms lead for Arlington-based Accenture Security to become the CEO of Bethesda, Maryland-based Fidelis Cybersecurity.

Hired in 2018, Ghosh directed the U.S. security division of Ireland-based Accenture plc, a global professional services provider that posted 2019 worldwide revenues of $43.2 billion. He will lead Fidelis through its next growth stage following the company’s acquisition by Skyview Capital LLC in late 2019, according to a company statement.

“Anup is extremely well-qualified to lead Fidelis in the next stage of its growth,” Darryl Smith, Skyview Capital president of global portfolio operations, said in a statement. “His deep knowledge of the cybersecurity industry, coupled with his visionary leadership experience at Invincea and Accenture, make him the ideal leader for Fidelis and, more importantly, for Fidelis’ customers that need ever greater visibility and control over the threats they are facing.”

Before his time with Accenture Security, Ghosh founded and ran Fairfax-based Invincea Inc., which was acquired by security software giant Sophos Group plc in 2017. He also previously served as a program manager for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where he created and managed a cybersecurity programs portfolio for the Department of Defense and intelligence cCommunity.

“Fidelis Cybersecurity is a pioneer within the cybersecurity industry,” Ghosh said in a statement. “The company has laid the foundation for new innovation and industry direction with a strong offering in extended detection and response (XDR) to find, fool, and vanquish adversaries before they can cause harm on our customers’ extended enterprise.”

Fidelis provides threat detection, hunting and response services across hybrid cloud environments.

Arlington-based Accenture is a global professional services company whose clients include more than three-quarters of the Fortune Global 500.
