A former Virginia labor commissioner has joined Richmond-based ThompsonMcMullan as director.
Courtney M. Malveaux served as Virginia’s labor commissioner from May 2010 to October 2013. In that role he directed state enforcement of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Payment of Wage and Minimum Wage law, and other state and federal labor laws.
Malveaux also is a former assistant attorney general and former deputy counsel to the attorney general of Virginia.
In his private practice, Malveaux represented business clients in the U.S. and abroad.
