Alexandria-based Mandiant Corp., a major security incident response management company, has expanded its European operations, opening an office in England, hiring key sales personnel in the region and announcing new agreements with a distribution partner.
Mandiant currently has an engineering and security operations center in Dublin.
Mandiant has appointed Mike East as director of sales and Nik Churchley as director of channel sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. They will be based in the newly opened UK office in Reading, a city 36 miles from central London.
Mandiant also announced that it has entered into an agreement with Exclusive Networks, a distributor specializing in security solutions. As part of the deal, Exclusive Networks will sell Mandiant products through resellers across Europe including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia.
“Organizations in Europe and around the world are routinely compromised by attackers that seek to steal their financial assets and intellectual property,” Mandiant CEO Kevin Mandia said in a statement.
“Mandiant is committed to helping organizations across Europe attack their security gap by equipping them with the tools, intelligence and expertise required to find and stop attackers that bypass their preventive computer security measures.”
Mandiant said it is one of four companies certified by the UK government to respond to cyber security attacks via a “Cyber Incident Response” pilot program launched in 2012.
In addition to London, Dublin and Alexandria, Mandiant has offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Reston.
