A 317,400-square-foot warehouse/distribution building in Sandston, formerly used by Mazda, has sold for $9 million.

The new tenant at the building at 5700 Audubon Drive will be Dominion Packaging, according to CBRE Richmond broker Matt Anderson. Dominion, which already has one facility on Cofer Road in Richmond, serves the tobacco and food industries. The company could not be reached for comment, but Anderson said “the building will be occupied for a manufacturing use.”

Built in 1989, the one-story, concrete center is located on 16 acres near Richmond International Airport. Besides Anderson, CBRE|Richmond’s John Carpin handled the transaction on behalf of the seller, 5700 Audubon 2007 LLC. Evan Magrill of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled negotiations on behalf of the buyer.
