The U.S. Department of Defense awarded Fairfax-based software company Salient CRGT Inc. a $22 million contract to provide performance management initiatives and editorial support to the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s senior leadership, the company announced Monday.

The five-year contract will support the Joint Staff Actions Division for Program Management, Program Planning and Execution and offer services including process training, customer service help desk services, planning and analysis, correspondence management and communications and editorial functions. Services under the contract will be provided to the Joint Staff’s senior leadership, including the chairman and vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“Our approach provides the Joint Staff with increased efficiency and effectiveness in program and project management support services,” Salient CRGT CEO Tom Ferrando said in a statement. “We are a quick responsive partner to our critical DoD customers providing flexible partnership and options to support mission needs in times of conflict and peace.”

Salient CRGT will also lead training to educate Joint Staff leadership about decision-making processes and preparation of executive-level correspondence, analysis and proposals.

Founded in 2015, Salient CRGT provides services to Fortune 1000 companies. Across its 20 offices, the company employs more than 2,000 people. Last year, the company reported $410 million in revenue, according to Moody’s Investors Service.
