The board of directors of the Glen Allen-based Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) announced Monday that Patricia S. “Pat” Dorey will serve as chair for the 2020-2021 year.
Dorey is a retired college administrator and academic counselor who represents Delaware Electric Cooperative on the board.
Russell G. “Rusty” Brown, a director at Northern Neck Electric Cooperative in Warsaw, will serve as vice chair. He is a banker with Atlantic Union Bank and a director at Greenwood Village, Colorado-based CoBank.
Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative Chairman Wade C. House will serve as VMDAEC’s secretary and treasurer this year.
These leaders will guide the organization to deliver services to cooperatives that provide power for approximately 2 million people in the tri-state area.
“Each of these officers also serves on the board of their local electric cooperative and on one or more of the Association’s 10 committees,” VMDAEC President and CEO Richard G. Johnstone Jr. said in a statement. “We truly depend upon their commitment to provide input on how to expand and improve the services we provide our member cooperatives.”
