Virginia State University (VSU) in Petersburg has selected MBP to provide construction project management for a new $60 million multipurpose center.
MBP will provide project management, design review and quality assurance inspections,among other services. Additionally, MBP will coordinate activities and communication between VSU and other project stakeholders.
The project is scheduled to begin this August, with completion scheduled for May 2015.
The new 167,874-square-foot multipurpose center will offer meeting and classroom space, a student wellness center, team support facilities, spectator support facilities, team practice facility, building operations, and spectator seating.
It also will accommodate VSU athletic events, commencements and conventions, replacing Daniel Gymnasium as home to the university’s basketball and volleyball teams.
MBP is a multi-disciplined construction consulting firm with offices in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
