Waynesboro-based computer printer company DASCOM Americas has acquired 9.4 acres at Mill Place Commerce Park in Verona for its new headquarters building.
The company said the new Augusta County facility would allow it to expand its product line and eventually assembly some products on-site.
In a statement, Ron Acorn, president of DASCOM Americas, said the new headquarters site “provides us with excellent logistical advantages including being nearby to major interstates with relatively close proximity to many of our key strategic business partners and customers. We know this area and its people have a work ethic that is second to none. As we look to expand our business, Mill Place seems like a perfect home.”
DASCOM Americas is part of DASCOM Holdings, a business conglomerate based in Hong Kong that does business in 86 countries.
DASCOM sells computer printers, supplies and services to commercial and industrial customers. It markets Tally and Tally DASCOM serial matrix, specialty, and thermal printers.
DASCOM Americas said that, while it will continue focusing on business transaction printing, it plans to expand its business to include LED lighting solutions, which will be marketed under the Sonaray name, and a line of healthy lifestyle monitoring devices.
Those products currently are made in Jiangmen, China, but the company said the new Americas headquarters will provide it with the opportunity to assemble products in the U.S
The management team of DASCOM Americas worked for TallyGenicom Corp. in Waynesboro before the company was sold to in 2009.
DASCOM Americas, which was incorporated in April 2010, serves a diverse set of customers, including many Fortune 500 companies throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin America.
