Orvis leases space at mixed-use project in Leesburg

Orvis, a national retailer of outdoor goods and apparel, has signed a lease for retail space in the mixed-use project at Village at Leesburg.
It will occupy 6,022 square feet in a new 13,000-square-foot retail building under construction at the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Crosstrail Boulevard.

Orvis anticipates opening in the fall as the first merchant in the building, located within the 1.2 million-square-foot Village at Leesburg.
The company sells fly-fishing gear, clothing, home furnishings and gifts. Founded in Manchester, Vermont, in 1856, it’s the longest-running, mail-order business in the U. S.

“Orvis’ decision to locate in Leesburg matches up perfectly with market data showing strong opportunity for retail growth in the sporting goods category,” Marantha Edwards, director of economic development for the town of Leesburg, said in a statement.

David Dumeer of Golden Oak Development LLC represented Orvis while Susan Pan and Dimitri Georgelakos of KLNB Retail represented Village at Leesburg in the transaction.

The four-story Village at Leesburg offers about 520,000 square feet of retail space, combined with 150,000 square feet of office product and 335 multi-family residences. A Cypress Equities company is developing the commercial components of the project, and Kettler is developing the residential component.

The Carlyle Group is the lead equity partner in the development and KLNB Retail is handling the leasing of the retail sections. So far, the center has a roster of 44 retailers, including Wegmans Food Markets, Coldwater Creek, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, and Plow & Hearth.
