Richmond-based Tredegar Corp. has named W. Brook Hamilton as the new president of its William L. Bonnell Co. Inc. subsidiary, a producer of soft-alloy aluminum extrusions.

Hamilton, who currently serves as Bonnell’s director of business planning, will succeed Duncan A. Crowdis, who will retire on June 1.

Hamilton joined Bonnell in 2005 and was the plant manager of Bonnell’s Newnan, Ga., plant from 2006 to 2012. He was promoted to director of business planning in 2012.

Headquartered in Newnan, Bonnell’s aluminum extrusions are primarily used in the building and construction, automotive, distribution, electrical, machinery and equipment, and consumer durables markets.

Tredegar is primarily a manufacturer of plastic films and aluminum extrusions. The company had 2012 sales of $882 million.
