Chesapeake-based Volvo Penta promotes two executives

Yichen Gu and Marcelo Puscar will serve as vice presidents for the engine manufacturer

Chesapeake-based Volva Penta of the Americas appointed Yichen Gu to vice president of parts and accessories and promoted Marcelo Puscar to vice president of marketing. Both executives will be based in the Chesapeake office, the engine manufacturer announced Tuesday.

Gu will assume his position in March 2020 and will plan and direct parts and accessory sales for North America. He has worked with the company for 18 years is currently the head of its Dealer Business Management in Europe. He replaces David Kennedy, who will be retiring after 25 years with the company.

Marcelo Puscar

Puscar was previously the region market director for five years, working on digital branding, including social media content. In his new role, he will be responsible for regional and global marketing.

“The addition of Yichen Gu and promotion of Marcelo Puscar will further strengthen the talented, diverse leadership team we have here at Volvo Penta,” Ron Huibers, president and CEO of Volvo Penta of the Americas, said in a statement. “They each bring unique, global perspectives that span decades of rich experience across the entire Volvo Penta ecosystem, from partners to end-users.”

A supplier of engines and power solutions for industrial and marine applications, Volvo Penta has approximately 3,500 dealers in more than 130 countries and is part of the Volvo Group, which manufactures trucks, buses and construction equipment.
