SAIC names chief information officer

McLean-based Science Applications International Corp. announced Wednesday Robert Logan is its new chief information officer.

Logan will also serve as CIO for planned national security, health and engineering solutions company, Leidos, following the company’s planned separation into two independent, publicly traded companies, as
announced Aug. 30, 2012.

Logan joined SAIC in 2004 and has served as director of engineering for SAIC’s information technology services, where he is responsible for building a new SAIC cloud infrastructure that will allow for faster, more scalable and on-demand IT services for employees.

He also leads the overall transition and migration of enterprise IT functions in support of the planned separation.

SAIC is a FORTUNE 500 scientific, engineering, and technology applications firm. The company’s approximately 40,000 employees serve customers in the U.S. department of defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. department of homeland security, other U.S. Government civil agencies and selected commercial markets.
