MGT Construction, based out of Richmond, announces that it has been selected as the general contractor on several projects, including a 60,000-squrae-foot, four-story, office building at Stratford University’s Virginia Beach location. The project is the third MGT has performed for the university. Site work began in late 2012, and the building is expected to be completed this fall.
Other upcoming projects include The Lofts at 2713 / Roam Building. The Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority has selected MGT to renovate and convert an existing three-story building into a 14-unit apartment development. The project is scheduled to begin this spring with delivery in early 2014.
In the Richmond region, MGT will perform 16,000 square feet of tenant alterations for Dollar Tree in a retail outparcel at Brookhill Azalea Shopping Center. The work is scheduled to be done by mid-March.
MGT recently completed a 138-unit, 120,000-square-foot, historic rehab/adaptive reuse development in Richmond’s Manchester District. The former Philip Morris manufacturing plant offers apartment and loft units, with site parking, a clubhouse, community roof deck and floor-to-ceiling windows in penthouse units.
The company also handled the buildouts for two 13,000-sqare-foot medical offices for CareMore Health on Jahnke Road and Patterson Avenue.
