The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Mr. Tom Barkin, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, will provide an economic overview and assessment at the Chamber’s annual Economic Outlook meeting on February 19th. The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is one of twelve regional Federal Reserve Banks, with a territory including Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, North and South Carolina and most of West Virginia. Mr. Barkin has made a point of visiting and connecting with communities in his District, looking beyond the statistics to understand business and employer needs and perspectives.
Joining the Federal Reserve Bank President on the program will be Brian Shull, Economic Development Director for the City of Harrisonburg and Casey Armstrong, Assistant County Administrator for Rockingham County providing the local economic picture and outlook. Both City and County governments stepped up, in cooperation with the private sector, to support businesses and employers last year during the pandemic. Mr. Shull and Mr. Armstrong are in key positions to assess the business climate and the outlook for 2021.
