The Hilb Group has acquired insurance firms in Southwest Virginia and North Carolina.
In the fourth quarter of 2012, the Richmond-based insurance company purchased CSE Insurance Agency Inc. and CSE Financial Services Inc. of Abingdon and Wise, and B&H Insurance Services Inc. of Winston-Salem, N.C.
“We are expanding our specialty transportation practice with the addition of B&H Insurance Services while further expanding our commercial and personal insurance offerings with CSE,” President and CEO Robert J. Hilb said in a statement.
The CSE companies provide commercial, personal and employee benefit solutions in Southwest Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. B&H Insurance of Winston-Salem was founded in 1989 and specializes in long-haul trucking.
Hilb is seeking to grow through acquisitions and alliances in the middle market insurance brokerages.
