How did you decide to become a lawyer? Both of my parents are lawyers, and from a very young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a trial lawyer. Because my grandfather was a physician, I also had a desire to go to medical school, but math and science were never my strong suits. I was thrilled when I was presented with the opportunity to marry the two and defend medical malpractice cases.

What advice do you have for students who will graduate this spring from law school? Always pursue legal work that you enjoy and are passionate about. Identify a mentor with whom you connect and a job that will provide you with hands-on experience. There is no more valuable way to learn how to do something than to do it yourself.
