Andrew Day has been appointed chief executive officer of McLean-based Primus Telecommunications Group Inc. Day, 47, was previously the company’s North America CEO.
The company has also named its former CEO Peter D. Aquino executive chairman of the board of directors. Aquino served as PTGi’s CEO since October 2010.
Day had been PTGi’s North America CEO since June 2009. Before that he was the chief operating officer/CEO of PTGi’s Canadian business unit. Day started working at the company in 1999 and since then has held various senior positions.
PTGi provides advanced communication solutions to business and residential customers in the United States and Canada. Services include IP voice, data, mobile services and broadband Internet.
