Virginia Beach-based foundation repair company Groundworks has appointed a former executive of Terminix and Sears Home Services to the newly created role of president.
Mike Irby most recently served as senior vice president for the West Division of Sears Home Services where he helped increase earnings across 60 locations. His 20-year career also includes serving as a divisional vice president at Terminix International, a ServiceMaster subsidiary.
Irby, a Memphis, Tenn.-native, will relocate to Virginia Beach with his wife and two sons.
Groundworks is made up of five companies: Foundation Recovery Systems, Mount Valley Foundation Services, Tar Heel Basement Systems, JES Foundation Repair, and Indiana Foundation Service. The companies operate out of 15 offices in South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Missouri and Indiana. The company has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the nation.
