A manufacturer plans to spend $2.68 million in expanding its Spotsylvania facility.

The project is expected to create 25 jobs at the idX Corp. plant, which provides millwork, fixtures, décor and graphics in retail settings.

In February, idX announced it would create 150 jobs and invest $7.2 million in establishing a Virginia manufacturing operation in Spotsylvania.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Spotsylvania County and the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance at the University of Mary Washington to secure the project for Virginia.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe approved a $75,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Spotsylvania with the project.

Funding and services to support the company’s employee training activities will be provided through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
