Reston-based Serco Inc. said Tuesday it has entered into an agreement to acquire Ludlow, Mass.-based BTP Systems LLC. The deal is expected to close by the end of this year, pending required approvals.
BTP’s experience includes the management, systems engineering, design, evaluation, repair and manufacture of numerous U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force satellite communications’ terminals. It has operations or personnel in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Newport, R.I., Reno, Nev., San Diego, Charleston, S.C., Groton, Conn. and Mayport, Fla.
Serco says the acquisition would enhance its portfolio of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) service offerings and broaden its federal government clients.
Serco is a major provider of professional, technology, and management services. It has approximately 8,000 employees and annual revenue of $1 billion. The company is a subsidiary of Serco Group plc.
