A community in Loudoun County is one of top-selling master-planned communities in the country, according to a new report.

Willowsford ranked No. 21 on RCLCO Real Estate Advisors mid-year update of its Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities rankings. The Ashburn community first made the top 50 at the end of 2016 at No. 45.

The community was the only Virginia property to make the list.

Notably, Willowsford has only detached, single-family homes, while almost every other community listed has multi-family and attached housing as well (townhomes and condominiums).

Communities with a varied product mix of single-family, townhomes and condominiums are more likely to have greater numbers of sales.

Most of the communities on the list are in California, Florida and Texas.

Willowsford is situated on about 4,000 acres with more than 2,000 acres remaining in open space. The community strives to provide a natural environment and home designs that are unique to Willowsford, according to the company.

Other unique amenities include a working farm and farm-to-table cooking program with pop-up restaurants, visiting chefs, a farm market, more than 40 miles of trails and outdoor programming, resort-style pools, demonstration kitchens, a 7-acre lake and fitness centers.

Home prices range from $600,000 to more than $1 million. When completed, the community will have about 2,100 homes. About 1,200 have been sold so far.
