Nomadic Display to expand in Fairfax

Nomadic Display is expanding in Fairfax County.

The trade show display company plans to spend $940,000 on the project, creating 30 new jobs, according to Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Nomadic Display, which relocated its headquarters from Springfield to the Lorton area of Fairfax County in September 2016, will hire its new employees by 2019. Sixty-one employees will be retrained on new products and processes.

Virginia competed with North Carolina for the project, McAuliffe said.

Nomadic Display creates displays used by companies to market their businesses at airports, corporate events, road shows, shopping malls, showrooms and trade shows.

The company uses eco-friendly practices in the design, fabrication, and delivery of its displays and graphics.

“Fairfax County is truly an exemplary case study on how to keep jobs here in the state,” Eric Burg, owner of Nomadic Display, said in a statement.  “The people are the key, and we rely on their knowledge and experience to provide superior products and customer service. We chose to expand here in Virginia because the highly-skilled workforce provides limitless opportunities for growth and success.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership will support Nomadic Display’s new job creation through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP).

Nomadic Display is eligible to receive $600 per job for up to 30 new positions, for a total budget of $18,000.

The company also was approved to receive $550 per retrained employee for up to 61 positions, for a total budget of $33,550.
