James “Rocky” Query has been named interim vice president for finance and administration at Sweet Briar College.
He previously was the chief financial officer for Sterling College in northeastern Vermont. He also previously worked for Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
For more than 20 years, Query was a public finance investment banker for Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers on behalf of many colleges a universities nationally.
Query also served as a member of Sweet Briar’s board of directors and chair of its finance committee until stepping down in recent weeks to assist the administrative team in developing the college’s next strategic financial plan.
