The city of Alexandria is looking for developers with experience and expertise in the development of urban properties.

The city has retained JLL to assist with two redevelopment parcels located along the greater King Street Corridor in the heart of Old Town, which has a concentration of restaurants, antique shops, boutiques and theaters.

According to JLL, developer expertise could include public-private partnerships, federal tax-credit funding mechanisms, multifamily construction and commercial development involving office, retail and historic district redevelopment.

“This is a unique opportunity for access to the heart of Old Town Alexandria,” City Manager Mark Jinks said in a statement.  “With an established residential and business community and proximity to Metro, National Harbor, MGM and Washington, D.C., these properties are an ideal location for new uses.”

The King Street property is currently a public parking lot. At about 9,942 square feet, it includes three land parcels.

The Henry Street property is also a city-owned public parking lot of about 15,332 square feet. The site spans the width of the city block and fronts both South Henry Street and South Patrick Street.

Both properties offer access to Interstate 495, Interstate 295, Interstate 395 and Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway).  The King Street Metro Station, with access to the Blue and Yellow lines, is within walking distance of both properties.
