Interstate Hotels & Resorts, an Arlington-based global hotel management company, has named Brett Stewart senior vice president, development and capital markets.
Reporting to Leslie Ng, the company’s chief investment officer, Stewart will lead business development endeavors with a focus on cultivating capital relationships with private-equity firms, public hotel ownership companies and high net-worth investors.
He also will help develop the company’s long-term business strategy.
Before coming to Interstate, Stewart was vice president, strategy and capital markets, for DiamondRock Hospitality Co., a real estate investment trust based in Bethesda, Md. In this post, he supported corporate strategy and finance activities including the analysis of growth opportunities for a $3.5 billion portfolio of hotels.
Stewart also has served as a consultant in the hospitality and real estate transaction advisory practice for Ernst & Young, performing strategic investment analyses, due-diligence and operational advisory work for multi-billion hotel portfolios throughout the U.S. and Europe.
