Chantilly-based Engility Holdings Inc. has named one of its directors and a former executive with Raytheon as its next chief executive officer.
The government contractor’s board of directors announced Tuesday that it has appointed Lynn Dugle as the company’s CEO effective March 21.
Current CEO Anthony Smeraglinolo will step down immediately, Engility said, without giving a reason.
The company also announced Tuesday it is promoting Engility’s executive vice president and COO, John Hynes, to president and COO.
Dugle, who has served on Engility’s board of directors since February 2015, has more than 30 years in the defense, intelligence and telecommunications fields. Most recently, she held senior management positions at Raytheon, including president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services.
Hynes previously was CEO of Tasc Inc. before its acquisition by Engility last year. He has led intelligence services businesses at ManTech and SAIC and was an aviator in the Navy.
On Jan. 21, Engility revised its 2015 earnings guidance downward, and the stock fell 48 percent to $15.10 per share. The share price has yet to recover, closing at $14.51 Feb. 29.
Engility is scheduled to release its fourth-quarter and full-year earnings on Thursday.
