Colliers International announced Monday that David Parker, a 30-year commercial real estate veteran, will join the firm as regional managing director for Washington, DC.

Parker will oversee the company’s business in the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland. Over the past few years, Colliers said it has expanded its footprint in the region with full service offerings to investors and occupiers, including brokerage, capital markets, corporate solutions, property management and appraisal services.

In a press release that Colliers put out about Parker, the company said that he has marketed, leased, and sold more than 10 million square feet of commercial real estate during his three-decade career.  Most recently, he was executive vice president and managing director of a privately held commercial real estate firm, where he oversaw a portfolio of 12 million square feet, from Washington, D.C., to Boston.

Before that, Parker had a leadership role in expanding real estate brokerage operations in Northern Virginia and held management positions at mid-Atlantic REITs.

He currently serves as commissioner for the Loudoun County Industrial Development Authority. In the past, he also served as chairman of the Loudoun County Economic Development Commission and president of the Dulles Area Transportation Association.
