Kevin Cook, Booz Allen Hamilton’s chief financial officer and treasurer, is retiring.
He will be succeeded by Executive Vice President Lloyd W. Howell, Jr. on July 1. Howell leads the firm’s Civil Commercial Group.
Cook, 60, has worked at Booz Allen for 23 years. In a statement, Horacio Rozanski, the company’s president and CEO, credited Cook with helping guide it through critical transitions, including the separation of its government and commercial businesses into two distinct firms in 2008 and its initial public offering in 2010.
Howell, 49, has more than 24 years of leadership in business operations and strategic planning.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard University.
Since 2013, Howell has served on the board of directors of Integra LifeSciences Corp., where he sits on the audit and finance committees.
Before Booz Allen became a public company, Howell served for two years on the firm’s board. He also is a longstanding member of the company’s disclosure committee.
