Octo Consulting Group Inc. has received a boost from Bethesda, Md.-based Arlington Capital Partners.

Arlington Capital announced Thursday it had made an undisclosed investment into the Reston-based firm. Octo is an IT government contractor serving health-care, national security, civilian and defense agencies. The company’s solutions are designed to modernize agencies’ aging infrastructures.

“Octo’s continued exponential growth over the last several years gave us many lucrative acquisition alternatives,” Mehul Sanghani, CEO of Octo, said in a statement. “However, rather than pursue any alternatives that would exit the brand and legacy we have built, we chose to partner with Arlington, a private equity firm with a longstanding history of successful investments in the government services and technology sector.”

Octo also named two new leadership executives. Jay Shah, who has been executive vice president of the company’s Health Business Unit, has been named chief operating officer. He will take over from Robert McCord, who has been Octo’s president and chief operating officer since 2015.

Pamela Rothka has been named chief financial officer. Rothka previously was CFO with Buchanan & Edwards. She also has held financial leadership positions at Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Hewlett-Packard and Lockheed Martin.

Following the investment, Sanghani remains a substantial shareholder in the company.
