Kingspan Insulation LLC said Thursday it is planning a $25 million upgrade to its Frederick County facility. The enhancements are expected to create 15 new jobs.

Kingspan Insulation LLC, a subsidiary of Ireland-based Kingspan Group PLC, makes insulation products and insulated systems for building fabric and building services applications. The upgrades to the Frederick plant will include adding new equipment, Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s office said in a news release.

In 2014, Kingspan acquired Pactiv LLC’s Building Products division, which included the manufacturing plant.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe approved a $500,000 performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program for the project. The incentive is available to existing companies in the commonwealth.
