Onelife Fitness has opened a new fitness club at MarketSquare, a neighborhood shopping center at 2866 Virginia Beach Blvd. in Virginia Beach. The location is close to the oceanfront and Interstate 264.

The more than 60,000-square-foot facility offers space for group exercise, locker rooms, volleyball and basketball courts and private training areas. There’s also an aquatics center with water features for children, an exercise pool with lap lanes, hot tub and sauna.

J.R. Bernlohr Architects of Annapolis, Md., a leader in the design and development of health and fitness facilities across the U.S., designed the interior.

MarketSquare, originally named Lynnhaven Shopping Center, recently underwent a market repositioning. The new name reflects the layout of the center that comprises a total of 176,000 square feet. Major renovations are planned this spring to complete the transformation, according to McLeskey, a Virginia Beach-based commercial and residential real estate development and leasing company.

“This is a significant improvement and addition to this vibrant center,” McLeskey Chief Operating Officer William A. Wilcox II said in a statement. “Onelife Fitness’ commitment to build a world-class facility realizes our goal to bring the best possible services and offerings to this neighborhood.”
